Spring

Did I mention that spring is here?? It is sooooo nice to smell the flowers, or at least all the pollen. The trees are BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE spring. It will be a greatly missed thing when we have to leave Kentucky.

I actually have some time... I'm here thinking. "ok what do I need to get done for school?" The answer is actually a LONG list of things, but none urgently. NONE. I may get to spend the night with my man friend and have FHE with another person.

Friday I decided to for-go studying due to a nasty headache and bummed around and made a skirt. I love the freedom there is with a new piece of fabric. It isn't the best skirt in the world, as far as the sewing actually goes. And zippers are still tough but it took about 2 hours and there ya go. A skirt.

On Saturday and Sunday we watched conference. Sunday we colored some pretty sweet eggs. I am proud of my rainbow egg.

Later that evening we went to friends for a yummy dinner and then a lesson in cake decorating. I frosted a lamb and it is really cute/cool. Cool to know that I did it and .. cute.
I dont have picture of that yet. Soon hopefully.

Overall, the weekend was good, today was great and all is well!

Zig Zag

I needed to get my mind off of school so I stopped by the craft store and got some cute paper. And after a night of Jared on call I ended up with this.

If you haven't heard... Jared and I, after one year and 4 months of primary have been released. We thought it would be a welcomed day, but it was really sad when we had to tell our kids. :( And then realize that we will have to socialized with adults. YIKES. Most we don't even know. (It is stressful to me.) But out new calling. I called it as soon as we were told to meet with a member of the bishopric. What would be the one calling that I would not want to have. (other than music for primary) that we are kinda unofficially doing now... ward missionaries. Through the week I began to except it and kinda get excited. KINDA.
Then we got the call to be ward missionaries. I SO called it.
I just don't know what to do for this calling. And I've never been a missionary. I don't know the lessons. I'm totally lost. Oh man, this is not primary anymore.

Just for a laugh. This is student nurse charlie.

And last week I cleaned out our pantry and found 27 boxes of cereal. oh man, thats a lot of breakfast.

Happy Easter!

Break

I suppose because I have nothing to do (lie) I will blog about the amazing spring break I had. It was so restful and happy. Monday and Tuesday we just bummed around the house and slept in. Tuesday night we decided we would go to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was good, until Jared had food poisoning at 4 in the morning. Poor thing.
Wednesday late morning we left for bowling green to explore Mammoth Caves. It was fun and I enjoyed it.

Thursday we visited the Corvette factory (not museum) and it was AMAZING. It was so cool getting to see the car go down the assembly line and be slowly put together. After that we drove to Mcminnville Tennessee to a family friends.
They did not allow cameras in the factory so I got this pic from online.

Friday we got to hang out on the farm and just mosy around. Riding dirt bikes, shooting stuff, taking walks, going shopping, ect ect. It was a very relaxing day!

Saturday it was time to get back to reality and we made the 5 hour drive home and back to life.

It was so nice to get to do nothing for a week and just have our own vacation not seeing family or flying around for hours. (not that we don't love you guys)

Just life.

Not much to talk about in the last week or so. There has been some school stuff happening, but in fear of being dismissed from the program or my name being found I will avoid talking about it. It did have to do with talking to some upper level people about some things. I feel bad about it and will find out if I have ruined someone. Vague... I know. I have to be.

Life has been so so so SO busy. I haven't run in 3 weeks. so bad. I really enjoy running and it makes me feel so much better about myself, but it was put on hold. School got really busy with extra assignments that took 20+ hours to complete. I was talking with Jared that other day... I was wondering if I had a learning problem. I always take 1 to 2 more hours on things than other people and have to study so much more for tests. I figured out that this 'learning problem' i have actually is just about the way I was raised... I blame my perfectionist father and the expectations he always had for me. It is a killer, but at the same time has helped me be where i am right now and have the discipline i have. So a blessing and a curse. :) Probably more of a blessing. Rather take 1 more hour to do things than to be a lazy bum.

This last week I have been quite sick with a nasty cold. It hasn't help with the combo of migraines I've had presumably because of stress. I'm just FINALLY starting to get over it. Wednesday til today has been pretty crappy. I felt bad for going to my nursing home clinical with the starts of the cold. I feel like, "who am I killing because of this cold?" But either I call in sick and have to make it up (sucks) or I go to clinical and they can't send me home if I don't have a 101.5 fever. Frustrating none the less.

Primary went well today. I enjoy my class; they are so random sometimes but love 'em. Sometimes I wish that I could get a 'you are doing a great job' or something, but it is quite the opposite from the stake... because the 'late class (of 10 four year olds) are too loud and we need to wait for them to be quiet' Seriously!? Old woman, I want you to take care of all 10 of these kids and see how you do?
Obliviously I'm just a little bitter about the comments she made to me (and the whole primary) that day.

I'm loving work again. The girl I couldn't stand finally got fired. I have never seen someone look so busy and do nothing and take so much time doing it. It had me wondering if this was the part time job for me. Currently I'm looking for a summer job that I can do. I need something to do for those three months. Any suggestions?

Jared is doing well. He is healthy and hasn't hurt himself in quite a while (knock on wood). He is frustrated with the clinical work and wishes he had more surgerys but thats life. We are actually planning a trip to places in and around ky. Suggestions would be great! All we have right now is... mammoth caves.... yup. What a list.

School is going well. I'm doing good and keeping up (miraculously) I feel bad because sometime I have to totally ignore Jared for days at a time to get things done, but he seems to understand. He would rather have school be the reason than anything else. :) It is hard and has a lot of busy work, but I enjoy it and I'm really excited to FINALLY start doing meds instead of CNA crap... when I say crap... I mean... feces, poo, crap, ect. ew. But I have met some cool people. Spring break is this next up coming week. CAN'T WAIT, except we have assignments we have to work on and turn in when school starts again. Boo! Evil is what that is. Who thought of that? Oh well. yet again... Life

Charlie is being himself. He is a fun pup and is LOVING the warmer weather because he gets walks, gets to play fetch with the kong, and chase the neighbors cat. Jared taught him a new trick. I will try to post the video. Dad, this is a sell point on Charlie. :) (other than the poo eating, which I'm trying to break him of). Our neighbor came over the other day to tell us her dog died. Very sad. And then tell us how good a job we did with charlie. She secretly watches us with him when we're outside and just loves how well behaved he is. FINALLY someone that understands labs and realizes how hard I have worked with him and that he is young and has tons of energy. He can't help that he is so excited with other people around. Just because he is excited doesn't mean hes not trained. (People are always telling me about training classes and stuff... I'm like... really... he IS trained.) But she made my day and also decided to adopt Jared and I. :) We like it, she says she cooks real good :) lol. A sweet couple.

Anyhow, that has been life. I hope that maybe something more interesting will happen so i can blog about more than just normal life stuff. But for now. we are A live and healthy (mostly) and happy.

Once there was a snowman...

Yes, once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman tall, Tall, TALL. In the sun/rain he melted, melted, in the sun/rain he melted small small small.

With the snow melting and rain predicted for tomorrow and me only having one memory of building a snowman I decided that it was time to make another. With the over abundance of snow that we have had this winter we had plenty of snow, but today was the day. It was super sunny and 50 some degrees. Yes I went out in just a long sleeve shirt and was fine!!! A very different feel compared to last weeks "14 degrees feels like 8". Our electric bill will be awesome this month if it stays like this. :)

Anyways... the snowman. It is Amazing. Jared and I had originally planned to roll the base into the street to stop this diesel truck that always stops right in front of our house, on our grass, every morning to drop their kid off at the bus stop. That would be fine... whatever... what a nice parent. But they also rev their engine... LOUDLY so we can't sleep. SO FRUSTRATING. to continue.. the base broke in half right before it got there. So to make it a unique snowman... (other than the brown snow from the mud) we made it as tall as we could. And boy is it tall.

It is so much fun to play in the snow with your best friend.

Also on a short side note. On Valentines Day Jared was on call, but I got to spend most the day with him. Him and our neighbor cooked a wonderful surf and turf dinner.

And I made some colorful cupcakes.

And Jared found some sees candy for me here in ky... of course we are sharing.

Just to take a break

I have been so so VERY scatter brained lately. I have had a lot to do and many things going on. Mostly with school. It is keeping me on my toes, unfortunately this has caused me to drop the ball with other things... including but not limited to dinner, laundry, charlie, vacuuming... well cleaning in general... (dishes, bathrooms, sweeping, ect)

Luckily Jared has been forgiving :) So yesterday (after working for 7 hours on homework on friday and only getting half way done. Mind you this was only homework... not studying) I went to my friends blog and found a cute little craft (with tutorial :)) So I decided I would give it a try.

The tutorial is found here on how to make a cute bouquet of felt flowers. I picked my colors, bought my fabric and got to work. And this is what I ended with about 2ish hours later

What was even more amazing what that Jared OFFERED to help cut and roll the flowers! What a man. Gotta love him.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Snow days

The last 2 days I have gotten to stay home. A nice large cold storm came through and left around 8 inches of snow. Class yesterday was canceled and my clinical this morning was canceled if the school went on delay schedule of 9 or after... I woke up at 5:30 and got a text from a friend in my clinical asking if we still had to go to clinical (it has been CRAZY windy so the roads were horrible) and in the middle of texting we both got a text that school was on delay schedule :) NO CLINICAL. I'm kinda frustrated though because I know it will all come back to haunt me. I worked all day yesterday on home assignments so not having clinical today may be even worse. Oh well, it gives me time to finish an essay I have due Sunday.

So I thought I would take the time to talk about the initiation ceremony that I had a couple Sundays ago (of course on Sunday... everything is on Sunday, frustrating). I have to get some pictures from Jared. It was good. I recited the honor code and then signed the honor code poster thingy. It was pretty short, but it was right in the middle of church so we didn't get to go :( Which actually I would have rather gone to church.

I just have to say... The sun just came out and it makes me happy!

AND another piece of randomness. I have been trying to get back into running again. I had to start slow because of problems with my IT band. So I started with one minute runs on the treadmill (with plenty of inclined walking). I looked pretty stupid, but oh well... then 2 mins and 4 then 6 and 8 then I ran a mile. And then 2 weeks ago I ran 2 miles and this is where I'm at now. I walked a mile at an incline and then ran 2 miles yesterday and today. AND BOY AM I SORE!! But it actually feels good. It is nice. My neighbor and I are both trying to get into running to run a 5K in april or may. I hope it all works out.
