I believe in my last post about going to Kentucky I may have (I will have to actually check later) said something about me not feeling that great. Well it only got worse. The flight home from kentucky was actually horrible because of a ragging fever with chills and sweating, headache, stiff muscles, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, achey all over, so tired, and just plain miserable. The next day and it is back off to school misery and all, except when my fever came back and ballet had to take a back seat, the day went fine. It still felt bad but I rested a lot and thought that the next day would be better, but I was wrong... another fever later and some missed classes I ended up in my bed most of the day... until the last bit.
For the first time (in a lONG time) I felt 'better'. Better but tired and with a slight nose irritation... but nothing some pepto and sudafed couldn't take on. So Hannah (roommate) wanted to go out to eat and since I was feeling SO much better I went with. It was a debate on Arbys or Taco Bell... well we are not exactly decision makers so taco bell won purely (i think) because then we wouldnt have to walk 100 more feet.
We ate and enjoyed, headed back to the apartment and started on homework. And then... to end the 'feeling better' moment, my body decided it did not like the taco bell (specifically the coloring) and I had an allergic reaction. Dopped up on benedryll I crashed in bed until 3 when I woke up in such pain I debated the ER. Just a side affect of the allergic reaction is for my gut/ stomach to HURT, bad. Well that combined with not being able to breathe with the nasal thing, a Headache and a sore throat to impress ... lets just say sleep was on the rare side. Somehow I made it to school and even did ballet. Thursday was the same. And then friday I started to feel better as in my stomach did not hurt, no more pink eye but my throat was so sore that eating was a pain and when I looked at my throat it my poor tonsils were swollen with lots of pus on them... yummm. So finally after Jared had to scare me to the Dr. I went to BYU Urgent Care. Took forever but finally they got my test results...
Strepptococus- Negative (Dang!)
B-lymphocytes- Abnormal
White count (normally 4-5) - 50
Mononucleosis- Positive
NOOOOOOOO! Not now not with a HUGE Chem test on monday and finals in less than a month and a wedding to still get read for! Not now. NO NO NO. But oh yes. Mono. I totally have mono. The Dr. was nice and gave me prednisone (steriods) and a pain killer, and told me to sleep 8-10 hours and take vitamins.
This took some investigation but after questioning Jared... and I know I have never kiss anyone else I came the conclusion... It happens. Probably on the plane to Kentucky in February or on campus somewhere some person coughed on me and ME being a college student that never has enough time... was probably not at the peak of immune system health due to lack of sleep.
So yes, Mono. I'm exhausted all the time, sleep 9-10 hours in the night and still feel tired in the day. Oh boy. Well at least Jared is not around to catch this 'Kissing disease' from me!
