The Race Track

So last Saturday Jared and I took a trip to lexington to the wonderful Keeneland. It is the race tracks in lexington. It was the opening day and it was busy. Jared had been to a horse race since living here, but this was my initiation into Kentucky I think. Overall it was really fun and nice. The day was wonderful, sunny and warm. It was fun to bet each other on what horse would beat the others. Mine always lost to Jareds, but that doesn't mean Jared's choice in horse was any better. Our horses were usually in the last 3.
Jared tried to go off statistics at first and so did I, but at the end I decided just to choose the prettiest horse. I dont know what Jared did. Maybe by what name was the cutest. Other than the snots, smoke, and beer it was a great little trip... Oh and the amazing sunburn that we got, but with that comes a lovely tan. :)

FHE fun.

So for an activity for FHE I decided to make a cake, but when I made the cake I did not know it was going to be for FHE.
I baked it and wanted to decorate it cute for Jared. Then I started trying to think what to decorate that he would like.... hmmmmmm and then it came to me. We can decorate it together. And that is exactly what we did. He took one half and I took the other. There were plenty of colors of frosting including a brown that Jared some how came up with.
It ended up being really fun and cute too... in a intresting way.

The cake.

Jared frosted our front yard with the dead round spot and charlie leaving a 'gift' on the lawn. My side... I dont know. I drew random things like a star and then a cow jumping over it and then the i <3 Jared with the heart upside down. And a yellow bone under his name. It was lots of fun and we even got to have cake after.

Jared ate my heart.

Charlie even got some yellow frosting on his nose.

Getting bigger.

So I thought that I would give an update on Charlie because I was looking at some of his puppy pictures. OH so CUTE and SMALL. With the puppy teeth and fur. LOVE that pup. BUT, now things have changed. how things change so fast. He is a big boy now, and still growing.

You may recall he was 5 lbs when we got him and now he weighs 30 lbs. Sigh. Where did my cute puppy go? Although, he is just as much fun as before he is bigger and teething. L-O-V-E-S going on walks and getting in mud just so he can track it allllllllll over inside. We still love him, that spoiled little dog.

Trip to Arizona

In Arizona there was family! And that was the best part. It was so nice to be with so many people instead of talking to the dog, there was always a person I could talk to, talk to death that is. :) It was good to see my family and it was good to see my cute, cute, cute new nephew, Paul. He has the cutest clothes and even better smile. (And I love his hair kate!)

I want to just copy Katie's blog because it covered everything that we did. Sunday i got in to Arizona and went straight to church. I met Paul and held him all I could. When we got home Jake had be try the new christmas present stilt things. Actually harder than it looks. And the rest the day we just hung out and talked and played domino's.

Monday all the girls went shopping! And hung out in Sephoria FOREVER. and did each others make up. It was so fun! AND my wonderful mama made her homemade spaghetti per my request and it was just as amazing as I remembered.

Tuesday James and I (mostly James) cleaned the carpets, and then we all went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was SO SO SO much fun! To be at our family eating out spot. So good.

Wednesday was my last day in Arizona as I was leaving Thursday morning. My mom drove me around Arizona to look at all the changes that have happened. So many more buildings now. And then we went shopping again this time at Joanns and we finished some of the mall with the purchase of shoes. That night there was ribs and a game of password all to be finished up with James getting me to play a zombie video game. Awww... how I love playing video games. :)

Thursday I flew home and got to see Jared my hubby! I was happy to be home but sad to leave my family in Az. If only Kentucky was not so far away from everyone.

(Thanks Kate for letting me steal you pictures... I forgot my camera of all things)

Veterans and Motorcycles don't mix.

This last Saturday Jared was on call. A typical thing. No big deal. BUT at the VA they are very slow and laid back so I can come and visit Jared with little to no interruptions. So nice... So like a good little wifey I go and visit and bring dinner. Can't say the dinner was amazing, but it was something. Jared and I enjoyed a dinner together and then watched Madagascar 2. It was good, or at least I enjoyed it and I heard Jared laughing so I'm pretty sure we both liked it. Then it was time to get going. I left and got on the freeway just to come to a complete stop. I waited, and waited, got bored called my family and talked to Kate. She always has a way to cure me of my bored "ness''. So I waited in stand still traffic for one hour when a police car drove up alongside all the cars on the shoulder and was telling them to turn around and get off at the next entryway. Lets just say it was the weirdest feeling having to turn around on the freeway and drive the wrong direction. It was very invigorating and adventurous with no danger. My kind of adventure. It was just the weirdest thing. I found another way home (which in Louisville really is a miracle) and my sister-in-law looked up the problem
Problem: Motorcycle accident.
I called Jared when I got home (2 hours later) and told him the problem. And he told me... Oh, I got paged about that... it was a veteran and he got transferred to the University hospital.
Let me rephrase the problem
Real Problem: Old people and motorcycles.
In the end it really was no problem. I got to chat with Kate for hours which is always fun and I found a different way home, AND I got to drive the wrong way on the freeway... very cool and invigorating. BUT our red box movie... was late. :( so we had to pay for it again. DANG.
But all so worth it.

"Are you Hannah Montana?"

If you look back to my fall 2007 posts there is a post about how I looked like this girl that went missing at BYU. People would see me and say aren't you that girl they are looking for. Hmmm... now if I was that girl they were looking for and you found me, I guess I'm not missing.
This happened numerous times and sometimes it freaked people out. Also I was told I looked like the matrix lady in the BYU testing center, hahahaha but sadly that is not true, but I have a new identity.

Last Sunday in primary one of our smartest four-year-olds looked at me in the eyes and with full honesty said, "Are you Hannah Montana?"

HA! I just chuckled and said no, but I am still chuckling. It gets more funny as I think about it.

Could it be true... do I have a blond wig I put on my head and transform into a pop star and all the sudden sing awesomely? Is there any resemblance? All this time everyone thought it was Miley Cyrus, but really Hannah Montana was a Mormon gal in Kentucky.

My accident ridden husband... sigh...

So most people know Jared and his prone'ness' to hurt himself.

FRIDAY:

Jared and I decided to go to the park with Charlie. We found this ditch with all the leaves in it. Charlie LOVES LEAVES! And so Jared and I would run up and down the ditch while he chased us and because he could not see the ground underneath the leaves he would run into potholes and biff it. It was SO FUNNY. Well, Charlie could not see the ground and neither can we... opps. So Jared went to run down the ditch again and then he biffed it. But his was a bit worse than charlies. Yes. I thought at first he had broken his ankle, but luckily he could still walk on it so diagnosis... not broken, he thinks but the next day (after it had swollen up huge) I think he was unsure so he got some X-rays and he was right... not broken.
Sometimes... gah. That husband of mine.

I had to apologize to Jared the next day... Woops! On Friday I got so frustrated at the common nature of Jared to get hurt that instead of a nice compassionate wife he got the anti-compassion robot. I got frustrated and was trying to be nice and compassionate, but sometimes a girl can only take so much. So in my attempts to be nice I got him some pain meds when we got home, but instead of 'giving' them his pills, I just threw them on the bed, and had NO compassion for ANYTHING he said that whole night and argued with anything and everything he said.
I realized this the next morning and apologized in a text and again when he got home.
This started a trent, and he apologized for a argument in November. HA!

I need to be more angry on purpose so I can get more apologies :) HA Yeah right!
