The 26+ legged visitor

I will get to the big, long, awesome, church history tour with my family in a bit... It will take a while. BUT for right now I HAVE to tell what awaited us when we got back to the apartment.

A awesome friend from the ward came to the airport and picked us up and drove us to our apartment. We mostly talked of the olimpics. We got home and unpacked and while Jared shaved his half beard for work the next day, I started the laundry. (We have REALLY OLD, rusty, LOUD set of washer and dryer) So Jared was trying to talk to me from 2 rooms away and I could NOT hear much. It was more like mumbles. And then there was a distinct yelp of, "HOLY CRAP!!! JENNY YOUR NOT GOING TO WANT TO COME IN HERE. WHERE IS YOUR HAIRSPRAY?!???"

Now for some reason... Jared feels bug spray is insignificant and that Hairspray will do the job on insects. So I grabbed my hairspray, which might I add is quiet the strong hold, and ran into the bathroom to find this... THING running around in our sink... FAST. Jared sprayed it with his hairspray and it slowed it down and then with mine and it slowed down even more. A couple drops of foaming soap on it, a title wave of water and then the drain crushing it about 7 times as it floated to its final resting place. I have to say, that bug was DISCUSTING!

So in an attempt to figure out what the heck was in our home Jared searched the internet for.... "multiple legged insects" and the first thing up on the internet answered our questions.

It said that it was a house centipede. I did not agree because I always thought of centipedes as little catipiller looking things with more legs, until I saw the picture.

It is said that they eat roaches, spiders and other nasty bugs and are not poisonious (atleast not yet recorded) BUT they are fast and invincible. I supposed this one met its match. BUT poor Jared last night had to accompany me every time I was in the bathroom and I made him check our shower drain as well. What a sweet man, but now he is gone and I guess I will just wear shoes. Ew!

ps I added a link so that you can read about it from one persons experience... actually told in a very entertaining way. (Just click on the title) I really love the part at the end that says, "And if you're planning on moving to a relatively secluded place in the middle of a big city, watch out for apartments on the 1st floor. " I'm glad we are moving!!!!

July 25th

Jared is officially 7 years older than me again. It really doesn't seem like that much most of the time. Jared has his mature moments where his wisdom only gained though living life shows...BUT he is still a little kid at heart! (and sometimes on the outside too... ok ALOT on the outside too!!!) But that is why I love him! Wise when needed, and mostly fun!
ANYWAYS, July 25th was the wonderful day that Jared came to the world, and it was time to celebrate. (sorry I got lazy and did not get any pictures)
We are currently house sitting and have had many exciting fun things happen, but that is for a later time.
OK, so Jared came home with dinner... Steak... what else?! As we bar-b-qued the steaks we got to talk and enjoy being together. Little did Jared know that I was hard at work baking up black bottom cupcakes (THANKS CARRIE!) and wrapping up his present. After dinner Jared got his wonderful cupcakes with candles in each one and his present "The Encyclopedia of World Religions". As Jared and I say, "your nerd is showing."
He found the book about a month before his birthday and after a long debate of looking at the book with awe and then putting it down just to pick it up again and say something to the extent of how neat the book was... ect ect. So the next day the book was bought by ME!
He was suprised to see the book and excited. I hope that he liked the conclusion of Jared Week.

Giggles in the Dark

Just two nights ago Jared was on call. (Yet again) This means that Jared gets up that morning at 5 and goes to work all day and maybe gets to come home for a hour or so and then is off back to work until some hour in the middle of the night or early the next day.

On Thursday Jared did just this, but they let him get off call early (midnight.... not exactly early in my dictionary) So Jared came home and quietly slipped into bed. I did not even wake up; which is very surprising.
Suddenly I did wake up and looked over, and who should be next to me but JARED. We talked for a bit and then we slept.
He had work again that morning so it wasn't until Friday night that I heard the reason for my awakening.
Giggling... quiet loudly.
Lynsie had said that I giggled in my sleep but I really did not understand.

At least the night is filled with laughter and not nightmares :)

It has only been 2 1/2 months... Ya, some stuff happened.

Well, I am back, at least for today. Jared awoke (like always) at 5 and along with him I did too. He just left and I am left this morning as tired as can be, but without the ability to sleep. So.... BLOG!
So so so sorry. It has been a long time since I last blogged and it was really sad when I logged on and could not figure out how to 'create a new blog'.
Tons has happened. Tons of LARGE LIFE ALTERING things have happened.
We will start from the beginning.
In May Jared graduated! Offically obtaining his little bit of alphabet soup after his name. I was very proud of him. He looked all snazy in his black dress and with his huge diploma. It was a really fun time. Jared's family all came to Kentucky for it. (Man talk about loved) It was fun having them around. Some of the fun stories that happened...

The first ever meat plate was organized by me at breakfast. (Armstrong's you should be ashamed, lol)

Rumor has is that Dad Armstrong loved his rental car and somehow got smashed into the back seat on the hump.
The doctors ball.

Six flags- turns out that Joel is stronger that all the men. And Jared and I got stuck on a driving track forcing Jared to hop out of the car and push me and him back on track. Obliviously Jared was wrong in saying, "dont steer, it will steer on its own..."
We all got soaked- except for Momma Armstrong- the smart one.
I had to drive back to Jareds apartment for him on the Kentucky roads because he took a little too much dramamine. As I drove I had the worst back seat driver. The Chaos went something like this:

Me- Is this the 265 Jared?
Jared- No the speed limit is 65.
Me- I know the speed limit is 65.
Jared- Then pass this guy.
Me- I can't I'm already going 70.
Jared- The speed limit is 65!

Jared then proceeded to graduate! (Although, the graduation was long and boring) But we went to outback after.
Jared saved me from the water spill. It was quite amazing. I was just sitting there at the table... I recall seeing the water fall and then the next thing I knew my chair went flying backwards and I missed all the water. It was pretty amazing instincts! Save the one you are engaged to, totally going to be a great husband... lol!
Squire Boon Caverns... turns out if you do something bad there (like crack the tombstone) you get to stay with squire boon.....
Call huber farms before going to see if it is pickin' season.
OH... the flight leaves at 7 not at 3. Happy Mothers Day!

After all the excitement of Jared's family being there he put me to work. We had to pack all his stuff and then worst of all... clean. So Jared took me to dinner before and hypped me up on a butt load of caffine and put me to work on the bathroom- DISGUSTING (curse my ocd nature) Over two hours.... it took over two hours but that bathroom was the cleanest it had ever been, and will ever be.

Jared expressed his anger towards the US Govenment by taking his new baseball bat to Geoge.

Then Jared went back to Utah and I back to Arizona to clean out my room and figure out more wedding stuff- an invitation stuffing line. Woot.

Oh and go to Jon's graduation. It is proven... they are all boring:)

Then off to Utah I went to get married.
Lots of work and a fun shower later.

Jared and Jenny were sealed, together forever!
May 30th, 2008

at the Salt Lake City Temple

At the reception there were lips.
Why? You will just have to ask the right person. We know you told everyone... You know who you are...
HONEYMOON! to yellowstone.
Great fun; too bad I did not feel well for the first couple of days, but none the less... great fun ;) OH! and we got stuck in a stinky bathroom at yellowstone because of a rather LARGE bison.

We also had an exciting adventure as we rode the UTA train to Ogdon and got lunch.

We raided BYU and checked out the want ads... they were all lame so Jared made one of his own.

Shipped off to Arizona for the open house. It was fun, the food was great and all went well! MIST FANS???

The gifts that we got from being married were great. But the one that suprized us the most was the 5 hymn books that we got!

Goodbye, we are off to Kentucky! Of course the day that we left I awoke with a horrible migraine. Poor Jared drove about 10 of the 14 hours. We were living off of PB&J sandwiches, yogurt, bagels and caffine. Mapquests says that we drove 933 miles that day... I agree.
Now we are moved into Kentucky and living life! We are in the process of buying a really really REALLY cute home and are so excited. Jared is working hard, long hours, but he can do it. He is a determined person. :)

The first week we were in Kentucky we got to celebrate my 21st birthday! There was candles to blow out on a big pile of ice cream! mmmmmmm!

Being married is great! I love having that person around. You just know, you wouldn't have anyone else.
Last week I went to Arizona again to see my family be complete again. I even got to drive my old high school 'cool car' around phoenix again!

My twin brother JAMES came home tuesday morning from his mission in Argentina. It was soooo good to see him. I missed having my friend around for all these things that have happened but we both understand.

Surprizingly I made pancakes for my family that actually turned out good(a first for me)

and then Jake Julie and I went and made HUGE bubbles!

Also while in Az my family had a be-lated birthday party for me and James. And I got to go to the Mesa temple. The best part was finally getting to talk with Jamesy all night long, the night before I left. It was like old times, we just understand each other... twin connection. or something... While it was all great I really missed Jared. I wish that he could have been there and met my brother and hung out with us.
He always thinks that my family is quiet... but is never around to see them the other way... SUPER LOUD.
While I was in Arizona Jared had a hard time in kentucky. While in a surgery after working for 36 hours straight got stuck with a needle. But in time we have found that the man did not have HIV or Hep C. So that is GREAT!!! We still wont know if there was anything really bad until Jared gets his blood tests back. So we pray for the best.
Finally on monday morning I had my flights back to Kentucky. Being at the airport at 5:30am demanded alot after talking to Jameserson all night but I was there... ready to leave, but they werent. A series of storms across the united states had delayed the plane that was to be used for my flight to Geogia. It had just come in that morning and the pilots need 8 hours of rest. (BAH, Jared is overjoyed to get that much! Spoiled pilots. lol. ) SO my 6:40 flight turned into a 12;05pm flight and my original flight out of altanta at 2pm was changed to 10pm. BLAH. Two hours of standing in that stupid line for that schedule. Well, I made the best and went back home and got some sleep, just to go back to the airport. With some trickyness I found a flight that was going to KY sooner and was on stand-by for that flight and got on! So instead of leaving at 10pm I got in at 10pm, and Jared got to pick me up! (no taxi for me!)
I was the first one off the plane, and I dont think I have walked so fast to get passed security and to see Jared. Cute as always. When we got home my sweet man had done some sweet things for me. Made a poster,
kisses in bed (they were candy, dont get all grossed out), and a chalk entry mat saying "welcome home smudgy". I feel loved!
So that was life in the past 60 some days. Everything is great. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. And I love Jared just as much as ever!

(Phewww. Long entry!)

Love you all!

Because of the threat of a hot dog toaster... A NEW BLOG

So I have been super busy sick, finals, moving, Jared in Honduras, wedding... and I allowed my blog to become VERY out dated. Here is a review of some of the things that have happened that my Roomie (Mcpajamerson) Wrote up for me. I will have to go back and explain things in more detail... BUT this is what we have for now.

(Please note that Hannah actually wrote this for me, in first person as if she was me(Im just that cool, everyone wants to be me) and i couldnt stop laughing at how much she remembered, so here goes!)

Well, I know it has been a long time everyone. A lot has happened since I was assaulted by a giant yellow banana and attended General Conference.

First of all, I just want to say that I 'graduated' from BYU. No, I do not have a diploma, but I leave a changed person. I learned many, many lessons there:

1. An engagement ring acts like a boy magnet. Everyone wants to talk to you and ask you about it.
2. Once you get asked to give a talk in church, there is no getting out of it.
3. Never take classes from bitter, single, middle-aged women.
4. If you have a journal assignment for a class, it is best to write in the journal daily, as opposed to writing 80 something entries in one night.
5. If the bookstore says they aren't taking back a book, just go through another line and try to sell it to another cashier.
6. When cooking with PAM, and to correctly cook all of your food, keep the temperature low. Or, use this:

7. Labs > any other animal. And yellow labs > black labs. (But i still really like the back ones...)
8. I like Oprah. Give big or go home.
9. Doctor's notes are the only thing that can save you.
10. It snows in April.
11. Coldplay, or more specifically, a CRS ("coldplay rejuvenating session") can cure any ailment. Namely, a migraine.
12. Oh my! It is not me. I really CAN make popcorn; it turns out we have a faulty microwave.
13. I have the best little brother.
14. Going to the spa is a great midnight treat!

15. If I had a twin, her name would be Hannah. Oh wait, I do have a twin, and he should marry Hannah.

On a different note, I missed ABC Family's "Princess" movie, and I am bummed. It looked like an Academy Award winner, for sure.

Some fun things I haven't blogged about:
1. I gave a talk in church about keeping the Sabbath day holy, and then I went home early and watched Lost and studied for finals.
2. I aced my Book of Mormon and D&C finals.
3. I painted my nails black and dressed up like an emo.

4. I wore a crazy blue dress and took weird pictures.
(picture)

5. I bought space bags to make packing easier, and I balanced those space bags on my head. Or, my roommate did.
(picture)
6. Jared came home from Honduras. And he is sick.
7. I worked as a Baskin Robbins secret shopper. And I got a girl fired. This job was hard and included eating lots of delicious sundaes.

8. I went home!!!!!!!!

Saturday Morning Session

Yeah for conference this past weekend. It was awesome and because of (after a series of unfortunate events... I miss Kate!) I fell upon some tickets to the Saturday session and it was wonderful. Everything just went great! (except for having to get up early...) Hannah and I got up drove there, found the parking and got to our seats with no problems. The solemn assembly was really really neat, and the spirit was really strong. It was really cool to see all those people there stand and sustain Thomas S. Monson as the new prophet, seer and revelator of the church and to get to be a part of that. The talks were great as well as at all the sessions. It was just fun to get to go to conference for the first time, and then to be there for something so amazing and that I will probably only get to do once made it even more of a memorable experience!

One Yellow Banana

As many would know, Mono is not the most fun thing in the world to have, (but the get out of jail free card dr. notes are deceivingly wonderful) but then to combine the mono fun I awoke on Monday morning with the inability to walk. Another trip my friendly Urgent Care Friends, X-rays, and pain killers later... they figured out something was wrong. LOL. Anyways.

This week would go in my record of "Harder Weeks". Being sick and wanting to sleep but not being able to at the same time and having the demands of school and homework, plus not being able to just not move right or sit without being in pain really wore me down. So today I decided when I woke up that I was going to make it a good day (despite the test looming on the horizon). I went to school happy and victored (once again) up all the RB stairs, got to my class on time and it was a good review of the stuff I did not understand. AWESOME. So right after I trucked it back down the stairs I got to the legends grill building and what should I see there, but a man, in a banana suit passing out free samples of Jamba Juice to promote the opening of the new store location. This made me smile:) It was really really simple but it brought my spirits way up for the rest of the day. (That and Hannah's my DOG at my homework shirt, but that is a different story)

The banana man reminded me (well just the color) when President Monson was questioned on Feb. 4th, about his favorite color. He said it was Yellow and when asked why he said that yellow makes everything stand out. Without yellow the colors dull.
I wish that I could quote exactly what he said, but it stood out to me then and stands out to me still now.
Oh what just a little bit of Yellow has done for my day. :)

THANKS TO KATE...

"Yellow is the printer’s color. It’s the color that gives life to all of the other colors. I think it’s interesting that we’d all have nothing but blue grass if it were not for yellow. But also it’s the quickest color to fade. I haven’t figured that one out yet. I’ll see a picture on the wall, and I instantly know whether the yellow is starting to fade from that picture because, all of a sudden, all of the tones of the others aren’t as bright as they should be."

NOTE TO HANNAH...
SORRY I forgot the YELLOW lab puppy! But it just goes to prove the Yellow is the bomb... I dont know what I was thinking... black lab...psh
