Good stuff

The good stuff would be that Jared has two interviews for fellowship so far (across the country from each other). Its crazy to think that in a year and a half we will be moving to one of these places (hopefully!)

I have been Jared's personal travel guide scheduling all his flights and car rentals.  While doing this I kept coming across this word I didn't know...
Redress #

Hmmmm... and it is always right next to the section where you put your name.

So I clicked on the little "?"

This is what it said...

Redress #
The Redress # is a unique number issued by the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) that is used to facilitate passenger clearance for persons who have the same name as someone on the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) watch list.

Now wouldn't that really really stink.  Just to get to the point of getting a Redress # would be painful, and then to have a number.

Glad my name is simple. (And not on the watch list!)

Did I mention?

After 10 months I was released from my duties as a nursery leader. (Well actually Jeremy was released, but Jeremy... Jenny.... it's all the same)

I will miss nursery... but being released was welcomed.

There are times in life when you feed others, and times when you need to be fed.

Well, I'm starving and ready to dig in!

On a different note, Jared has now been called to team teach the gospel doctrine class. - our first calling NOT together. Interesting that we had callings together for 3 years. I think he will put a different energetic spin on the class.... he was currently talking about handing out candy to those that participated. I have no comments.

Ward Party

- The ward had a "Get to know you" party because we have such a high turnover during the summer.
It was fun!

James was choosen to participate in a game where you stuff as many nutty bars in your mouth as you can in 30 seconds.

He won with 6 bars in 30 seconds. CRAZY!!!! (and kinda disgusting- I wish I had some pics)

THEN

The next game was a pie tin with whipped cream with bubble gum. 6 people were chosen and had to dig for the pieces of gum in the pile of whip cream using just their face. AND THEN blow a bubble with the gum.

And HORRAY! I was chosen.

Where else would I have had the excuse to put my face in a pile of whip cream?

I seriously enjoyed it! (although I didn't win)

It was a great way to get to know some of the new people in the ward and break the ice.

Triathlon

In September Jared, Sydney and I all participated in a Mini- Triathlon. 400 yard swim then a 10 mile bike, and finally a 3K run. Woot woot!

The part I was most worried about was swimming. I quickly found that it was not my lack of swimming 'skills' but rather the FREEZING cold water. They said it was cooler than 60 degrees. BRRRRR!!!!

Jared (of course) started first out of the three of us. He did GREAT! Before I got done with the swim he was done with the bike. FREAKING AWESOME!

The bike was very VERY hilly. When Sydney was riding the person next to her crashed (her chain came off) and Sydney (being the sweetie she is) stopped to help her. Poor girl.

And then the run. It, also, was hilly. ugh.

But we all somehow survived and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Before the race group picture
Jared swimming like a star

My form is horrible, but the water was so cold I couldn't breathe. Which resulted in my head being up most the time. Oh well.

Done with the bike, ready to transition to run.

Jared happy to finish the race

Finishing. Please note that my leg is not normally deformed and it only looks that way b/c of shadows.

The after group picture

Oh, and did I mention that I got 2nd place in my age group? SWEET! Not bad for my first tri!

Holiday World

On Saturday we decided to go to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana with my brother James and his wife Sydney. Holiday World is an amusement park/water park and we went for the water park properties.

It was great fun! We left early (eariler than we thought) because went we got there they were not open yet... we thought they were late. So we waited til a man got on a speakerphone and started talking about opening the park a half hour before they would run the rides which was at 9am. We looked at our watches 10am.

HUH??
HELLO we crossed a time zone! So we were there early. We got to ride on some of the amusement park rides and then hung out in the water park section the rest of the time.

It was great when it first opened because hardly anyone was there, but gradually it got VERY busy.

The rides that we enjoyed the most were the Zynga and the Jungle Racer. The Zynga all four of us could ride (b/c we are under 600 pounds) and in this ride you go down a tube and fly up on a funnel looking thing. It was a BLAST. Jungle racer was a slide you go down and race other people on. Jared is a Cheater and starts on the SET part of Get ready, Set ,Go. So any wins he got were wrongfully gotten. (I love you... I know you won't be checking on this for at least a week)

All in all we had a great time, and have this wonderful picture next to Santa.

What do you think he did?

What would you do?

If there was a small house centipede in the bath tub and your wife was screaming what would you (as the husband) do?

A.) Grab the shoe next to the tub and smash it
B.) Smash it with the top of a shower gel
C.) Get a cup and put it on top of the thing
D.) Spray it with Hairspray
E.) None of the above

I would like your votes please!

What did he do?
