I havent posted a 'real' post in a while so I thought I would catch you all up. (Thanks for the reminder Rachel)
nothing is happening.
The End.
J/k I know things are happening, but I just think of them as normal run of the mill type of stuff.
Jared...
Jared is doing well. Mostly studying for work and preparing lessons for his calling in church. Really not much more. He received a Christmas gift early this year so that he can continue to bike during the cooler months - he was happy about that. And we have been able (the last couple days - like today and yesterday) to spend some time together. It has been nice because the end of October and beginning weeks of November were very poor for couples that actually want to see each other. :( BUT we have made it to one of our first weekends together in .... 4 weeks? SAD.
Currently, Jared is trying increase his distance running. We ran 6 miles together. At about mile 5 I offered to increase the distance to 7 but he declined. He wants to do a Olympic length triathlon in May next year so he is trying to work on running. He will also (hopefully) be participating in a half marathon with me next April. I think he is amazing.
This Christmas we will be going to Utah, well not for Christmas exactly. But more for Taylors wedding. Plus, again I have to work, this time on Christmas Eve... and the weekend before Christmas so we will officially be spending Christmas here.
Jenny...
As for me.... I am boring as usual. I have been working
as usual. The patients have been pretty nice, but the load was heavy due to being short staffed and budget cuts and new nurses but I survived the worst of it I think, and work has actually been very busy, but mostly goodish. We had almost 80 elective surgeries last week. Normally we have about 60-65. CRAZY. Plus the planets must have aligned because we had a ton of hip/femur/tiba/shoulder fractures come in as well. It kept things very busy. I suppose it will only get more busy as the year comes to a close because people have filled their insurance deductible and want their knee/hip replaced. I felt pretty happy because I helped catch a clot in the lungs on a patient. Poor thing, but it made me feel like I actually do matter in my job. A rare glimpse of satisfaction. - Most the time it seems like patients are just yelling at me or mad, or disappointed. Makes it hard to feel like I matter.
It does suck that I will not be able to come home for t-give, especially because everyone will be there. It makes me miss my family. So, Jared will be going to a friends for thanksgiving dinner, and I will be helping with a potluck at work. :) - almost as good as a home-cooked meal.
Right??
I recently went to the eye doctor and got the smallest of small scripts on my right eye. He said I still had 20/20 vision, but I could try glasses to see if they would help my headaches. We will see. I have never worn glasses before and they are different. No, there will not be any pictures because I'm still pretty self conscious about them. Like, multiple times a day I ask Jared 'For reals....'
And he will say something like "They look good on you". We will see. I can tell that things are just a bit clearer as I read and type, but they drive me crazy driving and watching tv. Honestly, I'm most scared to go to work with them. JUDGMENTS.
Charlie...
Charlie has been happy, but doesn't like it when we go to work all day long. BUT he does know how to hold that bladder for 12-14 hours at a time. He has been loving the 6 miles runs because he can basically do his own thing and run in the fields next to me. (and roll around in deer poop). He will be 4 years old this Thanksgiving and he is starting to calm down from his puppy hyperness, which is kinda nice.
We all are happy here in the bluegrass state :)
