Blogging... The ULTIMATE threat.

Well,

the other day Jared and I were 'hanging out' (which is quite amazing!) We were just sitting on the bed and I was complaining to him about something just like wives do. And he was trying not to give into his man urges to tell me how to FIX the problem when all I want is for him to LISTEN and 'oh', 'ah' and hug me and then maybe say 'it will be ok'.

It got silly after that (Don't worry this is PG) and he decided to tackle me down to the bed with my head sticking off the side and then to called Charlie over to lick my face. What a wonderful husband. lol. BUT what really put the cherry on top of the whole thing was this comment.

"HAHAHAHAHA! I do that to Joel and Taylor all the time! HAHAHAHAHA!"

I have turned into being 'beat up' like a little brother. So my comment in return was...

" I'm blogging about this and your family will read it and then you will get a call from your dad and he will beat you up for me."

Blogging has become the threat we use on each other. I do believe the other day Jared yelled to me.... OH you didn't close the bathroom door! I'm going to BLOG about this! (this would be in an attempt to get back at me for that wonderful blog about Jared. hee hee! )

Of course if you ever look at Jareds blog it has been... since...

"THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16TH 2008"

so we all know that, that 'blog threat' was very empty.

(and let me take this second to explain the door being open... I did close it, but not all the way til it 'CLICKED' and ALL the doors in our house were put in crooked so they open and slam closed as they please. and sometimes it scares the crap out of me.)

In conclusion, if ANY of the Armstrong Family would like to give Jared crap for having the smelly dog breathed dog lick my face while I was being held down, I would think that to be just lovely.

Jared and I were talking about how we were passive-aggressive people just the other day... I don't know about Jared sometimes, but I am DEFINITELY passive-agressive.

Ice storm

WOW. This week has been Kentucky CRAZY!

Monday night/tuesday morning it snowed about 4 inches and then that day we had a BUNCH of freezing rain. SO, the roads were HORRIBLE! My tuesday classes were "canceled". Yes they spelled it wrong. And then it snowed more... and more and more... through the next couple of days.
Jared and I guessed we had about 7 inches of snow.. (ok i know if you are in utah you are like... whatever, but) That is a BUT LOAD of snow for Kentucky and the crazy drivers there that dont know what the heck they are doing. gah. BUT other than the power being out to about a half million in kentucky(... Jared and I were very lucky!.... )and the roads being horrible, my classes were closed tuesday, wednesday, thrusday, and friday!!!!! PLUS it was so pretty, not just the snow, but when the sun came out today it looked like all the trees had lights all over them. It was so pretty. So the advantages of having about an inch of ice on the trees is it is soooooo pretty, BUT the down side is branches down EVERYWHERE. And one still impending falling branch is laying across the power line to our house. YIKES. oh please no oh please no! But so far all is well.

On wednesday it was CRAZY. jared and I went out and took pictures. The branches were so low to the road because the ice and snow was so heavy on them... I looked like a winter wonderland, until a tree branch fell right in front of us. We then decided it best to just go home.

And today I do have pictures!

This is of some pine trees right before you turn into our neighborhood. Pretty much any pine trees i have seen look like toothpicks.

I LOVE ISICLES. They look so cool.

I like this shot of our little lights. They have a solar panel on top. I dont think they are working at the moment.

I wish that I had a better picture from farther away of the branch that taunts us everyday.

I think it looks like something from Narnia. It looks so pretty, although dangerous.

The tree in our front yard. None of the branches are broken but I don't know if it is going to make it.

Our little house. We have a pile of two feet of snow/ice in the right corner by our door. WOO HOO. I can hardly see the 4 foot plant we have there.
But our cars are happy.

Jared and i both agreed we felt like we were home in Utah :)

Oh and just a little update on our little boy. Charlie is growing like a weed. He went to the vet a week ago and got more shots and when we weighed him he was 11.7 pounds. Compared to the 5.1 when we got him. YIPES. This dog is going to be huge. I think it is easy to say he is easily over 15 pounds now. Only 9 weeks! HE IS GETTING HUGE.

And that was when jared admitted he got the boy dog because he wanted him to grow to be as big as his dad.... great.

BUT in Charlie's defence he is a great dog. Messes in the house are far and few between, he knows what he should and should not do, and he is learning what 'sit' means, (It is so easy when you have a food modivated dog.) and when he does get in trouble he with sulk allll day long. I take is as he learned his lesson. He still LOVES to cuddle up with you on the couch (although he is getting too big and after he fell asleep on the couch next to me almost wiggled his way off, I had to grab his legs. Dummy. But of course we have pictures. He is our little baby :)

Charlie

WE HAVE A PUPPY!!!! Our new addition.

He is so so so so cute! on January 9th Jared and went to a home in Indiana and are now the new proud owners of a cute chocolate lab puppy! His name is Charlie although he doesn't know it yet. He really is the sweetest thing. Only 6 weeks old!

The first night was full of yelps and wines, but that has definitely improved, along with the messes all over the floor. By Sunday he knows that he is to go outside and go to the bathroom, although he hasn't figured out how to tell us just yet. He is a smart dog... he will figure it out... and the sooner he figures out was IS and what IS NOT a chew toy would be nice too. My hands can only take so much chewing with those sharp sharp teeth.

He is not so fond of going outside (I think it is because it is freezing cold,) but has gone on a small walk and I have a feeling he will be one that wants to chase cars.

He is a super friendly puppy and loves to play, but cuddling up with you on the couch and taking a nap is just as fun. I will get pictures up as soon as I can... they are all on Jareds camera so it may take me a while.

HOORAY A PUPPY!

He had just come home and was scared to death.

The boys were both alseep next to each other. It was so cute!

I think that this one is Commercial material

Christmas, New Years and then life started again

SOOOO. I dont have the picture of our Christmas tree yet. They may be lost and if so we can just go into our backyard and RE-decorated our tree. We still have it, poor thing, out in the rain, wind, cold and snow. We didn't know where to get rid of it and kinda tried to figure it out, and after a load of procrastination... we still have a dead cold Christmas tree. We joked last night about pranking our neighbors by digging a hole in their yard and standing the tree up. It would be HALARIOUS to go outside and see this dead tree that sprouted up over night in your yard.

BUT... we would like to keep the small amount of friends we have on our street friends.

So for Christmas Jared and I made a last minute flight to Utah. Believe me it was last minute. A pain to get off work, but my husband was the blame...

Actually I AM going to be gone all Christmas week... MY HUSBAND sprung a surprise trip to Utah on me...... the tickets are non-refundable..... I had no idea.....

OK, so i stretched the truth alittle, but it was VERY last minute for my taste.

We got there after some delays and flying around for a hour and a half over payson to surprise Lynsie for her wedding the next day.

WOOHOO wedding day! it was so pretty and fun and Lynsie looked GREAT! Welcome to the family Mike. (although i think that mike could welcome me since he has spent FAR FAR more time with the Armstrongs than I have.... sorry!)

So then the rest of the time in Taylorsville we just hung out and got to unwind... ahhhhhh so nice

Then we were shipped back home to kentucky. booooo but it was very warm... kinda freakish... in the 60s that week. A good week to come back since we were told there was a huge ice storm and the temp was 5 below. EWWWWW (and since i am a freak about the heater.... our house would have been at like.... 45 degrees....) hee hee!

New Years was nothing great. Actually and really it was lame. Although I did stand up for the Hunsaker tradition of salt and vinegar chips. :)
I babysat until 11:30pm and then came home and got to bed. Jared went to bed at about 8:30ish because he had to be up 3. So no we did not get to kiss or see the ball drop... although our neighbors thought it nice to fire up some fireworks... They woke us up. boooo. :)

And now the life part starts again.
I have OFFICIALLY started school again. I am actually typing this blog AT the wonderous UofL. My only complaints so far is it is cold and I have to figure out a way to not sit by people that REAK of cig. smoke. GAG!
Other than my pre semester break down.... it has gone very well so far.
I am taking 12-15 credits (depending on a class im waiting on)
I am still working both my jobs BUT have dramatically dropped my hours.

Jared is now on the peds rotation. The most call days yet to date. It really sucks. There is no home call... meaning he cant come home if it is not busy and then go back if something comes in, and he is on call 11 times this month. booooooooooooooooooooo
but oh well, he has no brain tumor and says that call is so much easier with out it. (DUH) And he is with slightly nicer attendings. woohoo!

Last Sunday Jared and I got to meet our new CTR 5 class! We have 13 in the class but only 9 where there last week. And it is CRAZY. The attention span.... maybe 5 mintues... the hitting.... not hard but annoying (luckly their parent arnt far) AND we have sharing time this month AND Jared is ditching me with all these 4 year olds two sundays in a row! I can barely control my side of the row let alone all of them... Break out the crayons!
Basically we love it. A little more time to really learn how the kids learn and we will get it alll under control. I sure did miss primary when I was at BYU. :)

Luckly we dont have anything exciting yet (knock on wood) happen this month. I made cinnamon bread.... it is flurrying today.... we are looking to get a dog :) This can be the month unofficial announcement.

Jared and I have talked about it for well, since residency, JULY, about getting a dog, and so i decided to really get the juices flowing (i know bad saying) And my plan worked!

Yesterday Jared needed to mail something and the mail already came so we went to the mail box by the store... well by the store there is also a adoption center.... hahahaha. He fell right into my plan... muahahaha. and now we both REALLY want a dog, but we are going to see how our schedules go this month and see what happens!

We dont need some stinking truck! we have a perfectly good car to do the job.

I would not say that we are unfortunate. We are VERY fortunate but we are not blessed with that oh so useful truck.

I am however VERY proud of our resourcefulness in using our car.

so far we have had a lawn mower sticking out the trunk of it.

a bbq grill sticking out of the trunk

a ladder on the roof top

and most recently a Christmas Tree.

(I was bored and since i had no pictures i thought I would draw a very poor rendition of the Christmas tree adventure.)

A Husband... In Training

Now...

There is no person that can come into your life and fit to your mold of that 'Perfect Someone'. There is just minor angles, and twists you have to make to fit.

In every relationship this is somewhat true, in differing varieties. I know that Jared and I get along pretty well, BUT, there are those things... Sigh.

I have found a solution for my husband in training for one Minor (but major enough) bad habit.
The Culprit...

Not closing the bathroom door.
ew
Ew
EW.
EWW!

Maybe I'm just a private type person, but .... It is a common courtesy... to me.

So when the bathroom door was left open just to get a reaction out of me... he got just that... I grabbed my camera and ran over to the bathroom. (No pictures were actually taken, My bark is worse than my bite)

I have never seen the door slam shut and be locked so quickly. (hee hee hee)

We are still learning... and training each other, but if there are any tactics for the toilet seat being put down ... Please... share the secret. :)

Love you Jared honey!
